The word traditional often leaves a funny taste in your mouth. These days, word on the street is traditional is bad. Traditional signifies the way things used to be, not the way things will (should) be.
But are traditions really that bad? Or can they be the foundation of greatness?
Think of the traditions in your life.
Christmas.
Weekly staff meetings.
Getting up at 2am on Black Friday to get all the deals with your girlfriends.
Monday night football with the guys.
American Idol nights.
Choosing and cutting down the family Christmas tree.
Board games on New Year's Eve.
December ski trips.
Spring Florida vacations.
What do traditions mean to you?

I don't think we allows
I don't think we allows follow them blindly. There are traditions my family has that I don't follow blindly but rather fully enjoy. No matter what, like you said, it's up to us to enjoy them or not.

Why's that?
Why's that?
I mean, I tend to follow
I mean, I tend to follow Thanksgiving rather blindly. I feel that Thanksgiving is just a big farce, but it does give an excuse to get the whole family together. I fell that these traditions kind of hold families together, like a social glue of some sort. This tradition, in my family, is very important from the standpoint of getting back in touch with people. This year I am missing Thanksgiving and Christmas due to study abroad, but I'm looking forward to "Skypeing" the whole family when they gather at my home.
It's definitely a great
It's definitely a great excuse to get the whole family together. And this day in age, that can be hard with everyone on different, crazy schedules. Maybe it's not such a bad thing after all ;)
