Corporations and large companies consistenly lock their systems down. They allow employees to perform certain tasks and run certain programs - nothing more. Websites are blocked, wallpapers are set in stone, things run one way and one way only.
Why? Because corporations are afraid. They're afraid of an employee hacking the system or uploading a virus. They don't trust their employees. Instead, they treat their employees like students in detention.
Employees who work for companies that treat them like students in detention probably don't like those companies. That feeling of distate will carry over into the way the employees interact with customers.
And that's not good.
