Michael Arrington has written an excellent post over at TechCrunch regarding the current state of PR within the world of social media. An excerpt:
"They’re trying to apply the same rules they used when the number of
journalists covering their companies was a manageable, chummy lot.
Today there’s a whole spectrum of people writing about startups in big
media publications, large and small blogs, Twitter, Friendfeed and
everything in between."
There's been a lot of talk swirling in the blogosphere lately regarding the current state and future of PR. I agree with the general consensus that the PR we used to know is quickly becoming extinct. What do you think?

Couldn't agree with you more.
Couldn't agree with you more. Also, there are a ton of newspapers laying off reporters, locally in South Florida it is crazy. I really feel bad for them, but industries do change and I think they will ultimately transition to web workers.
Media is changing, and clearly PR changes along with that. Everything is still in the early stages. The world already changed, everyone is still playing catch up to adapt.
